Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
Hi, I’m Tanya and I’m a counsellor at Room to Grow Therapy.
For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated with how we human beings operate as individuals and in relationships, which led me to study Psychology at A Level, Degree, and Postgraduate level. I have always enjoyed working with people, and have over 15 years’ experience in various NHS Services promoting the health and wellbeing of diverse communities of young people, adults and older adults. I have also travelled and lived abroad, enabling me to develop a deep appreciation for cultural difference and diversity.
After experiencing some personal challenges in recent years, it brought my passion for mental and emotional wellness to the foreground, and I decided to pursue further training to become a professionally qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor.
My approach is integrative and holistic, drawing on a range of modalities which enables us to work creatively, tailoring an approach suited to your individual needs. We can explore the impact on psychological, physical, spiritual, social and environmental aspects of your life. I aim to facilitate your journey of self-discovery and personal growth by supporting you to gain deeper insight into potential root causes. I also work in a trauma-informed way, considering how emotions affect the body, working at your pace to promote nervous system regulation to safely process painful emotions and experiences. We will work collaboratively, discovering coping strategies, opportunities and resources to help achieve your therapeutic goals.
My approach is ultimately grounded in empathy, warmth and care. In our work the aim is to develop a trusting, reparative therapeutic relationship that can foster a sense of safety and acceptance to support your journey toward healing, wholeness and living authentically.
