Meet Steph

My journey into counselling and psychotherapy

Having had a previous career in management consultancy, I pivoted into the world of counselling and psychotherapy following my own recovery from burn out. My experience of healing led me to want to give back some of what I have received.

With particular interests in ‘chronic’ or ‘toxic’ shame (an unending sense of worthlessness or ‘wrongness’), addictions, codependency, eating disorders, trauma healing and relational growth, I desire to help others start their healing journey and develop more fulfilling relationships with others.

I work in private practice with individuals at Room To Grow Therapy both in-person and online.

Issues I work with:

Depression, anxiety, addictions, eating disorders, codependency, OCD and other compulsive behaviours, grief and loss, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation, people-pleasing, relationship issues and conflict, difficult menstrual cycles, self-harm, life transitions, career change, body dysmorphia, anger problems.

I am trained in the Rewind Technique so am able to work with symptoms of PTSD.

I am familiar with the 12 Steps and happy to work alongside these programmes for clients in recovery.

Qualifications

I am a qualified, registered member of the ACC and individual member of the BACP, therefore I adhere to their ethics and codes of conduct and am subject to their complaints procedures.

I am in weekly psychotherapy myself, as I believe I can best be of service to clients whilst I remain a client myself, I have regular supervision and take responsibility for my own continued professional development.

“I’ve been seeing Steph since July and just want to say how truly amazing she has been. I’ve seen many therapists over a number of years, and never felt such support and professionalism yet genuine kindness. I’m so grateful to her.”
